Battle of Segestica

First success. I thought i'd lose this one too!

"It was just another calm morrning in a town of Segestica. However, it may be the last, was the thought
of Bardyllis, a leader of the town's small garison. His spies have reported that barbarians from the north
have allready marched across the river protecting the city from the east and are preparing an assult.
His fears are normal, since he is alone in the far north end of the once mighty Epirus empire, that is
now collapsing together.

But his thoughts have turned quickly to the reality again, the archers he sent to harras the barbarian horde
some minutes ago have just returned. He, knowingly that they didn't achieve much, prepared an ambush inside the
town where he expected the most fighting to be done.

And so did happen, the spearmen, equiped in Germanic style, have engaged his Illirian spearmen.
The lines clashed, and bloody street fight began. Both sides were pretty equall, but the defenders
soon started to gain the upper hand. They were possitioned better than the attackers and fought bravely.
A small part of the Germanic spearmen even fled, and now Bardyllis saw the perfect chance to spring his trap.

He ordered other Illirian spermen that were hidden inside the houses to outflank the agressor.
And they did charge into them and caused many to fall. Even more Germanic spearmen escaped from the battle
and Bardyllis saw victory at hand. Now even some archers possitioned themselves properly, so that they could
release their shots into the rear of the spearmen, who were in an allready hopeless position and had noone to
spare to engage the archer threat.

But than suddenly Bardyllis heard horrible noise comming from the rear of his army.
And there they were the other part of the enemy army, that he was unable to see, due to being in town.
First javelin volleys were released into unprotected rear and than Aljaz-Gae released their wrath upon
poor Illirians. Bardyllis was told to be slaughtered by a javelin hit, other Illirians panicked and were
slaughtered, some surrendered, and some decided to die honorably.

Only archers from Dacia, managed to escape the battlefield soon enough, and so they live, to fight another day.
